Tyre repair materials
The tyre repair plugs restores the tubeless properties of the tyre, whilst the rubber stem seals the tread to prevent the tyre from deflating as well as potentially damaging water and contaminants entering the tyre.
This repair plug will repair up to a 6mm hole in the middle ¾ section of the tyres. To ensure a perfect seal, the damage should be cleaned and repaired with a 6mm Tungsten Carbide Cutter. The repair plug repairs punctures to the tread of radial and Cross-ply tyres. The metal pilot guides the rubber stem through the injury.
The max for car tyres is 6mm. For light and heavy commercial vehicles the maximum is 8mm. Within the United Kingdom the law states that only the middle ¾ of the tyres tread can be repaired and no repairs can be undertaken on the shoulders and sidewall of the tyre.
